About this object
The photograph shows the damage caused by the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake to the Westshore road, Napier. What remains of the Inner Harbour can be seen on the left hand side. There are fissures in the road and fences have fallen over. Underneath the photograph Ernest Sinclair has written: Views of West Shore Road. Note broken water mains.
