About this object
The photograph shows Napier from Bluff Hill after the devastation caused by the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake and subsequent fire. The railway line is visible across the centre of the photograph. Nelson Park is seen on the right covered with tents which were used as temporary accommodation after the earthquake. Ernest Sinclair has written underneath the photograph: Panoramic views - Napier Central.
