About this object
View of the New Zealand Wars Memorial Cross at Ōhaeawai, Northland, possibly taken in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. This memorial, thought to have been designed by L. Munro of Dunedin, marks the grave site of British troops killed in 1845 during a battle at Ōhaeawai Pā.
A note on the album page reads: Monument erected by Maoris in memory of English who fell at Ohaeawai.
