View of the grave of Trooper Michael Noonan, a despatch rider killed during the New Zealand Wars, which is located beside Lake Kiriopukae, near Lake Waikaremoana in Hawke's Bay.
The grave is marked by a timber cross. The marker reads: In memory of Michael Noonan who was killed 10 June 1869. A timber fence is located immediately behind the grave marker.
A note on the album page reads: Grave of Trooper Noonan at Waikaremoana. Shot by Hou Hou [sic] when carrying dispatches from Wairoa.
