Shows islands, depth soundings in fathoms, heights in feet above the high water mark, ports, tides, rivers from Mayor Island, Hikuranga to the western side and south west, Ru-rima rocks, Whakatane River, Opotiki River and Rau-kumara mountain - 4,700 feet, Wai-apu River, Tokomaru Bay, Poverty Bay Eastward.
Noted east of Whangara:
SS Star of the south reported to have struck rocks near this position.
South East of Poru-poru River mouth:
HMS Eclipse, 1865.

A Māori settlement is noted on Mayor Island.
