Brief Description
A nautical map of Tonga or the Friendly Islands in 1866.

The surveys of Lieutenant G P Heath under the direction of Captain Sir E Home, Bart RN - 1852, Cook and other hydrographic documents - 1866, Captain Pelham Aldrich, Commander C F Oldham and officers of the HMS Egeria - 1888-1890.

Shows depth soundings in fathoms, harbour lights, lighthouses and magnetic points around Eua Island of the Tongatabu group, Haapi group and the Vavau group. Toku Island is reported to be 125 feet above sea level.
The Bethune Patch was reported to have been unsuccessfully searched for by HMS Espiegle in 1884.
