The letter informs Alexander McLean (Donald's brother) that the Margarethe Roesner will sail for Ahuriri that afternoon for shipping sheep from Napier to Otago. The letter informs Alexander McLean that they have engaged a first rate man to act as foreman to the men that Alexander will have to engage. They say that, the day before, they have received a letter from Donald McLean who is satisfied about the arrangements. They say they will send a few words by Captain Eggers.
