Brief Description
Letter from Bethune & Hunter, to Donald McLean, Auckland, dated 4 January 1861.
This is a reply to Donald McLean's request to charter a vessel. The author of the letter (probably J H Bethune as there are his initials at the bottom of the page) suggests the Margarethe Roesner which is expected from Newcastle, NSW. Bethune and Hunter are expecting seven bales of wool from Napier on the Sea Serpent. A note at the bottom says that the Wild Duck from London, with Mrs and Miss McLean, is at the Heads.
