Brief Description
Letter from Bethune & Hunter, to Alexander McLean, Ahuriri, dated 5 February 1861.
This letter follows the one written to Donald McLean on the same date. It informs Alexander McLean that the Margarethe Roesner has been charted to take up to 1800 sheep from Napier to Otago. He is asked to provide green oats as feed. Alexander is to go with the stock and that the first cargo will be unloaded at Port Chalmers and the second at Oamaru. The letter will be sent to Messrs D and W Hunter, Porangahau, for them to send to him.
On the second page is a copy of the letter Donald McLean sent to Bethune & Hunter from Auckland on 3 January 1861. In this letter Donald McLean says that his brother will get the stock down from the Maraekakaho run.
