A view of the Criterion Hotel, at the corner of Hastings and Emerson Streets, Napier, taken after the 1931 Hawke’s Bay earthquake. The image shows firefighters attempting to extinguish the fire. Two men are also pictured in the vicinity. A large power pole has fallen and is positioned at an angle above the road.
