About this object
An aerial view of Ohurakura Mill village near Te Pohue. The mill was established in 1923 by Robert Holt & Sons Limited and the houses built for the mill workers. The houses were reportedly without power and rain water was collected and stored for use by the inhabitants. The houses were all painted red. The photograph is believed to have been taken around 1928.
