About this object
Weathered’s General Store on the corner of Ferry and School Roads. Mr E Bennett built this grand edifice in 1886 having removed the original bakery and shop. The new bakery can be seen along the School Road side of the section. The second storey was removed post 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake and the entire site removed in 1973.
