About this object
Photograph of the Salvation Army band marching in the central business district of Napier in the days following the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake, possibly in Emerson or Tennyson Street. The rubble has been cleared from the street but timber and corrugated iron can be seen lying near damaged buildings. The band member at front carries a large flag and the band members follow in formation, carrying their instruments.
