The British Isles or Lions as they are more commonly referred to are a test side team made up of players from the national teams of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The team beat Hawke's Bay 13-11, but lost the test series to New Zealand's All Blacks.
The programme features advertisements of local businesses, articles covering the Lions' tours and brief biographies of the Lions' players. The names of the players of both sides are listed on the centrefold pages, as are the teams that played the curtain-raiser games.
