About this object
A view of the Tutira camp of the 9th (Wellington East Coast) Mounted Rifles. The camp has approximatly 100 circular sleeping tents, and 5 larger tents erected in several fenced paddocks, with horses tethered in rows alongside. The horses are covered with a horse blanket, and appear to be eating from feed buckets.
There are approximately 11 men standing to attention in front of the sleeping tents on the right, they are all in military dress. The hills surrounding the camp are being grazed by horses, and immediately in the foreground is an area of scrub.
