About this object
In the midground there is a large gathering of people standing adjacent to the racetrack on both the ground and on horse carts. In the distance the grandstand is full of people seated and standing on the stairways. The majority of those in attendance are looking to the south, presumably at horses making their way to the finish line in the left of the photograph.
It is noted on the rear of the photograph that it is a gathering for the Agricultural and Pastoral Show, but there is no evidence of this in the photograph. There are several horses in the foreground however most of the carts are horseless, possibly indicating the horses are racing.
