Object detail

Brief Description
Unpublished university assignment entitled Feathers for the Legs of a Woman: Facets of Hawke's Bay history, by James and Anne Garrett. The Garrett family inherited a cloak belonging to Airini Donnelly (Tonere, née Karauria, 1855-1909) that was gifted to Inspector John Dwyer (1857-1947) of the Napier Police in July 1909 by Airini’s husband, George Prior Donnelly (1847-1910).
Also includes information about Rotoatara, William Colenso and Rēnata Kawepō.

The author has advised that the te reo Māori version of the title is incorrect (likely copied from an old source). It should be: Hei Huruhuru mo Ngā Waewae o te Wahine.
