About this object
The photograph shows a group of men standing along Dalton Street at the corner of Dickens Street, Napier, circa 1900s. Included in the group is builder and timber merchant Bill Ward. The business premises of photographer Charles Sorrell can be seen behind the men. To the right is the premises of F Murrow, painter, paperhanger and glazier. The Dalton Street sign can be seen on the side of this building. In the background on the left behind the gas lamp post is the Napier Gas Company building on Hastings Street. Approaching the corner, on Dickens Street, is a man in a horse-drawn buggy.
