Magazine clipping showing photographs of the Möhne dam in Germany taken from a Royal Air Force reconnaissance aircraft before and after the bombing raid during World War Two.
On the night of 16-17 May 1943, Royal Air Force No 617 Squadron (later called the Dambusters) carried out a bombing raid to destroy three dams in the Ruhr valley, the industrial heartland of Germany. The mission was codenamed Operation Chastise.
