About this object
Four men are pictured among displays of leathergoods including equestrian supplies, harnesses, sports equipment and bags. The shop is the premises of Land and Heighway, Saddlers, on the corner of Heretaunga Street and Market Street, Hastings. The shop was destroyed in the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake. James Heighway, second from left, died in the shop during the earthquake.
