About this object
Studio portrait of the Marama Māori group, circa 1920. The women wear korowai and kahu huruhuru. At their feet lie two piupiu, a kotiate, and a woven flax adornment. They are possibly associated with the production of the comic opera: Marama, or the Mere and the Māori Maid.
