About this object
Temporary dais designed by J A Louis Hay. It was erected in Nelson Park, Napier, at the time of the Prince of Wales' visit in May 1920. Adhered to the photograph (which appears in an album of homes and buildings designed by Louis Hay) is a newspaper clipping that describes the design as "neat and tasteful" and "the most artistic structure seen in the tour".
