Brief Description
Souvenir photographic postcard album of scenes of Napier prior to the 1931 earthquake. On the back is a letter written by Mads Matheson to his mother regarding his family's journey from Te Kuiti to Napier by car. He describes leaving on Christmas Day, stopping at Rotorua for Xmas dinner and spending the night there, and travelling over the Napier-Taupo road which "in places nearly made your hair stand on end". The author comments on the lack of rain in Napier.
