About this object
The photograph, taken from the corner of Tennyson and Hastings Street in Napier, shows the damaged Masonic Hotel after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on 3rd February 1931. The building housed the AARD Tourist Information Bureau. Also visible in the image is the collapsed band rotunda on Marine Parade. A small group of people is seen walking along the road, while three men with bicycles take a closer look at the destruction.
