About this object
The photograph shows the Napier Borough Council Chambers building, designed by architect Robert Lamb. Two pohutukawa trees feature in the landscaped area on the opposite side of Herschell Street. Norfolk pines line the Marine Parade waterfront to the right. Houses are visible on Bluff Hill. The absence of the rotunda dates the image post earthquake and was probably taken by Percy Sorrell in the late 1930s or early 1940s.
