The barquentine Pendle Hill was owned and sailed by Captain Gregory Norris between 1894 and 1899. She was employed extensively in the trans Tasman timber trade often returning with coal from Newcastle. Captain Norris died in his cabin on board the Pendle Hill some 130 miles from Sydney Heads in July 1899.
