Brief Description
a) Sympathy note on Buckingham Palace letterhead paper with stamped signature of King George VI. Sent to Mrs C Hamlin following the loss of her son Percy in a fatal aircraft accident during World War Two.
The note reads: The Queen and I offer our heartfelt sympathy in your great sorrow. We pray that your country's gratitude for a life so nobly given in its service may bring you some measure of consolation. George R.I.
b) Plain envelope with typed name: Mrs. C. Hamlin, on the front and Buckingham Palace Royal crest stamped on the back flap.
