Brief Description
Ringbinder folder containing transcriptions of letters written by members of the Hamshar family between 1875 and 1922. The majority are from Fred Hamshar who emigrated to New Zealand on the Hudson in 1876 at age 14, joining his uncle James Hamshar at Waihua near Wairoa.
Also contains the original newspaper clipping of the report on the inquest into Frederick Hamshar's death at the breakwater in April 1890.
