Brief Description
Letter written by James Hamshar at Waihua, Hawke's Bay, to his brother Edward Hamshar in England, dated 28 August 1876. James tells Edward that there has been plenty of rain since Fred arrived. He says that of the 125 sheep he recently purchased, only 25 percent remain after the bad weather. They have finally set all the seeds that Fred brought out with him.
