Brief Description
Postcard showing buildings in ruins after the bombing of Albert (Somme) during World War One.
Sent to Henrietta Brady of Clive from her cousin Peter Brady who served with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in World War One.
Message reads (follows on from [94969]): the men, and that is the main part, but yet there is a terriable (sic) lot of sickness, mostly all colds. By heavens Hett my hand is that cold I can hardly hold the pencil in my hand, some frost this morning. This France is not the place it is cracked up to be it may be alright in Summer but no bond(?) in Winter. It is a hard life, there is not much fun attached to it.
Displayed in an album compiled by Henrietta Brady.
