Brief Description
Photographic postcard showing a high angle view of Alexandria, Egypt, with fishing boats in the harbour in the foreground.
Number two in a series of four postcards of Alexandria sent to Henrietta Brady of Clive from her cousin Peter Brady who served with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in World War One.
Message reads: so it is a bit of a take down for him drilling the same as a private. I got a bit of a shock when they told us that we had a canteen of ladies from N.Z. But it is only a refreshment room, but it is very nice indeed. and then also the ordinary Canteen is run by N.Z. people. I heard people say things are cheaper over here but one wants to find out these sort of things for himself. Every place I have been into is just as dear as old N.Z. but they reckon things are gone up every where I think they must of have.

Displayed in an album compiled by Henrietta Brady.
