Brief Description
Photographic postcard of the Sidi Gabar Mosque in Alexandria, Egypt.
Number three in a series of four postcards of Alexandria sent to Henrietta Brady of Clive from her cousin Peter Brady who served with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in World War One.
Message reads: Well Hett we are lucky in one way and unlucky in another. We struck mid summer here just in time for the fruit. I will give you a few items of fruit of what we can get here. Straw berries, cherries, figs, grapes, water melons, rock melons, & tomatoes, just the same as N.Z, but one cannot cannot eat all these, only the things that you can peal (sic) on account of the N---rs selling them. Now Hett there is another item that tangles a new chum up and that is the money, it is very awkward for a start, but you soon get used to it, the N---rs beat you right and left.

Displayed in an album compiled by Henrietta Brady.
