Brief Description
Photographic postcard of the Galle Face Hotel, Colombo, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka)
Sent to Henrietta Brady of Clive from her cousin Peter Brady who served with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in World War One.
Dated Monday May 20th 1916.
Message reads: My dear Hett, Just a line or two to let you know that I'm still in the land of the living. Now Hett we are past this great place called Colombo but I might tell you it is some good, although there are only darkies there, it would do me and Sam no (?) It is the place where Par(?) ought to be for the pineapples. But the heat is a bit to (sic) strong and they reckon it is Winter here now. So I do not know what it would be like in the summer time.

Displayed in an album compiled by Henrietta Brady.
