Brief Description
Photographic postcard showing the road bridge across the Manawatu Gorge.
Message reads: Dear Hett and Will, Just a line to say we are getting on fine, we went to the E. picnic it was very tame so you did not miss much and I had to go to a Hall meeting last night. Dad and Jim went and stayed with Mr Bateman. He is not at all well again, we did not go to the Grange today but going tomorrow. Glad you went to the baths but you did not stay long enough. Mr Davidson went to the Waip Hospital yesterday to have something done to his eye. Granny is still away. Hannah Burnett has gone to the same place as May's(?) housemaid. Bella is home with her brother. It rained here last night and is blowing a gale today so the boat won't be able to get in don't worry just come when you can as we are doing alright and Jessie willing to keep you a while. Mother intends going to Wairoa when she comes home. Jim is getting in the cows so must close with love to all, Mother.
