Brief Description
Comical postcard captioned: Ae Fond Kiss and Then We Sever.
The front of the card shows a policeman kissing a nursemaid, and a man pouring a bucket of water over them from an upstairs window. A handwritten addition by the sender reads: I hope your father does not send the water over you like this.
On the reverse of the card is an address: Miss H. Brady, c/- Mr P Brady, Clive, Farndon. Dated 31 May 1908.
Message reads: Dear Het, I suppose you felt the earthquake this morning. Tom McDermott and I had a race, 100 yards for home and I took him down with eight yards of a start. I have no news to tell you so good by Hal (?).
Though many miles divide and we are far apart,
Others may gain my company, but you have gained my heart,
This is written by a loving hand, sealed with a kiss,
Think of me my darling girl, when you are reading this. Amen.
Displayed in an album compiled by Henrietta Brady.
