About this object
Portrait of an unidentified young Māori woman of Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Whatuiāpiti, Ngāti Papatuamārā descent. She wears a woven korowai (cloak) adorned with fringe and hukahuka (tassels), and has a feather in her hair. Around her neck is a large pounamu pendant.
