The photograph shows an elephant (probably Jamuna) and its keeper at Auckland Zoo in the early 1920s. The elephant is performing a balancing act on two legs. The keeper is likely Ater Ali, who accompanied Jamuna when she was purchased from the Zoological Gardens of Calcutta in 1923.
