About this object
The photograph shows the ship Muritai in the harbour with the lighter Kiritona alongside. On the side of the steamship is the warning: Trespassers Will be Prosecuted. The Muritai operated as a ferry between Eastbourne and Wellington in the 1920s and 1930s.
