This is the British light cruiser HMS Belfast which visited Napier on the 8th March 1946 for a 4 day visit. She is now permanently berthed in the River Thames as a museum ship by the Tower Bridge. The coaster on the other side is Richardson & Co's Kopara which was in port from the 7-8th March, so this photo must have been taken on the 8th March 1946.
