About this object
Photograph of Emerson Street, Napier, in the late 1940s or early 1950s. A group of people - mainly women - have gathered outside Fairclough's radio and electrical goods store, to the right of which are posters promoting Australian singer Gladys Moncrieff. Along the parapet above the footpath is a banner advertising the film Brewster's Millions at the State cinema. A car is parked outside the Ross shoe shop, and three bicycles are parked at the curb where two men wait to cross the road.
