Enlarged glass-plate photographic negative of Pai Mārire (Hauhau) prisoners on the Napier foreshore before embarkation to Wharekauri Chatham Islands.

One of the 'Ōmarunui' series that includes five photographs that examine glass-plate negatives from the Alexander Turnbull Library in Wellington. The photographs in the series are of people that have links to the Battle of Ōmarunui, October 1866. The series was produced to acknowledge the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Ōmarunui otherwise known as the One Day War.
