About this object
The photograph, taken in March 1931 after the Hawke's Bay earthquake, shows men working to create road access around Bluff Hill from Napier to Port Ahuriri. Large boulders lie amongst the rubble. Near the bottom of the hill lie the remains of a house brought down by a slip.
