About this object
A booklet written by William Colenso titled: Fifty Years Ago in New Zealand. A Commemoration: A Jubilee Paper: A Retrospect: A Plain and True Story.

William Colenso came to New Zealand in 1834 as printer to the Church Missionary Society. The booklet provides an account of the introduction of printing in New Zealand and issuing the first portion of the New Testament, with remarks on the characters or alphabet used in the edition and on the New Zealand language generally.
