Brief Description
The sketch book contains a mixture black ink and watercolour sketches drawn and painted by William Josiah Webb, known as Willie by members of his family. Willie drew the sketches while he was living in Wellington in 1883, hence several of the sketches are of steamers and barques coming into Wellington Harbour. These particular images are dated, all of them having been drawn during September 1883. The harbour seascapes are followed by a variety of sketches showing visages and people. One of the face images is a self-portrait. There is one loose sketch in the book.
