About this object
The glass plate negative shows Bluff Hill, Napier, on the right. A railway line travels around the edge of the Bluff to the end of the Napier Breakwater which was a barrier built out into the sea to protect the coast and harbour from the force of waves. In Album 27 there is a contact print taken from the glass plate negative. Underneath the photograph is written: Napier Breakwater.
