Brief Description
The letter is addressed to H E Jones, builder, Mansfield, England from his son Harry Jones and is dated 15 August 1905. Harry’s address is c/- Robertson, Hastings Street, Napier. In the letter Harry writes that he is still alive, that Napier is a pretty place and describes the photographs that are part of the pictorial letter. He also records that he is working in Napier and travels to work on horseback. He ends by wishing his father a happy birthday. The photographs are of: Marine Parade and Band Rotunda; view of Napier and Clive Square from Colenso Hill, Hill residences and Napier high schools, Tangoio Falls, Hastings Street, Napier, the hospital, Napier Botanical gardens and the Napier Park racing track.
