About this object
The photograph shows the exterior of the New Zealand Clothing Factory, Napier. Standing under the verandah is a man, possibly the owner. There is a horse tied up to verandah post. The New Zealand Clothing Factory sold boys, youths and men's clothing, hosiery, boots and shoes.
The photograph has been scanned from a glass plate negative. There is foreign matter on the emulsion, hence the condition of the photograph.

Date, probably 1893/1894. The business was moved to a two-storeyed building in 1895.
