The photograph shows the right wing of the Isolation ward at Napier Hospital after the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.

The walls of the building have completely collapsed. The roof is lying on top of the debris and is predominantly intact. Stan Buchanan has written on the back: Right wing of Isolation Ward at Hospital.
