About this object
The photograph shows the destruction caused to unidentified buildings in Hastings by the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake. One of the buildings has completely collapsed. There is a gunsmith's shop on the right hand side of the photograph. The road has been cleared of debris and there is a car parked on the verge of the footpath.
