About this object
The photograph shows the Club Hotel, Marine Parade, Napier which was not damaged by the devastating effects of the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake. Standing across the road from the hotel and leaning against a car is Noel Simmons. Underneath the photograph Ernest Sinclair has written: Club Hotel. Noel Simmonds (sic) my helper and friend of the big quake.
